In 2015, Moose Jaw Community Bands (formerly known as the Moose Jaw Adult Concert Band) was founded by a group of music enthusiasts who wanted to share their passion for concert band music.
Ten years later, the Moose Jaw Community Bands have evolved into a not-for-profit organization with a newly established board of directors.
The Moose Jaw Adult Concert Band operates under this new umbrella organization, known as Moose Jaw Community Bands, Inc.
This organization oversees two bands in Moose Jaw: a Concert Band and a Beginner Band.
The Moose Jaw Community Bands' vision is:
1. To promote performing arts by supporting a community band that contributes cultural value, artistic expression, and community pride through public performance.
2. We provide an inclusive and supportive environment where musicians of all backgrounds can learn, perform, and enrich the cultural life of the community.
Moose Jaw Community Bands Inc. is a not-for-profit #102229966 incorporated as a Saskatchewan Non-profit - Membership under The Non-profit Corporations Act, 2022 on February 11, 2026.
The Moose Jaw Community Bands are governed by a Board of Directors, which is responsible for overall strategic direction, financial stewardship, policy development, and ensuring the organization fulfills its mission.
The administration is handled by a small executive committee of the Board, which includes the President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary.
