Our Story

In 2026, the Moose Jaw Community Bands established the Beginner Band. Under the leadership of Janie Collins Fries, this band welcomes any instrumentalist over the age of 18, regardless of their level of experience.

The Beginner Band will rehearse on Thursdays from 6 - 7 p.m at Vanier School's band room. The early start time allows for rehearsal time without overlap with the Concert Band, which meets later on those nights.  All rehearsals are at Vanier School, Band Room.

 Rehearsals will not be scheduled during school breaks and holidays.

Whether you have little or no experience with a band instrument, you are invited to join. Anyone interested in joining one of the bands is encouraged to contact Moose Jaw Community Bands by email at the link below.
