Registration Starts September 10, 2026
The Moose Jaw Community Bands are preparing for the start of our 12th musical season, with our first rehearsal on September 10, 2026. We are proud to continue the musical tradition in our community through two different bands, a Beginner Band and a Concert Band.
Band Fees
This year we will have a nominal registration fee per season - the Fall and the Winter.
The registration fees will help support our music programs. We incur costs for purchasing music, renting performance and rehearsal spaces, and compensating our conductors. This year, we are collecting membership fees via e-transfer or cash. If you pay by cash, please provide your full name and email address for our records.
Beginner Band Fees
Base fee is $40 for the Fall session September - December and
$40 for the Winter Session running January - June.
A total fee for the Beginner Band is $80 for the year.
Concert Band Fees
Base fee is $40 for the Fall session September - December and
$40 for the Winter Session running January - June.
A total fee for the Concert Band is $80 for the year.

Beginner Band
If you never played an instrument and would like to learn, it is never too late! Join us at the Beginner Band with our conductor, Janie Fries, leading our beginner group at 6 pm. Registration will start at 5:45pm.

Concert Band
If you previously played years ago and would like to start up again, this is the time to start join our more advanced group, the Concert Band, conducted by Daryl McKinnon at 7:30 pm just after the Beginner Band ends. Both bands rehearse at Vanier Collegiate, located at 324 MacDonald St, Moose Jaw in the band room.
Concert Band will start up September 10, 2026 at 7:30pm. Registration starts at 7 pm to join our band. Bring your instrument to our first rehearsal at Vanier Collegiate, located at 324 MacDonald St, Moose Jaw in the band room.

Concert Band
At Moose Jaw Community Bands, we’re all about the magic of music and how it connects us. We believe that through music, we can create wonderful experiences together!
Under the enthusiastic guidance of Daryl McKinnon, our Concert Band welcomes everyone aged 18 and up to join us. Come be a part of our musical family!
Beginner Band
The Beginner Band welcomes adults who are interested in revisiting an instrument from years past or learning new skills on a different one.
Our conductor, Janie Collins Fries, welcomes anyone interested in starting a new band instrument. You can join anytime, as there is no designated start date for joining the band. If you would like to pick up a new instrument, we invite you to join us!
